This Happiness Test is based on the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire that was developed by psychologists Michael Argyle and Peter Hills. I think this is one of the best tests to get a snapshot of your level of happiness because its reliability and validity are good, as in this test happiness is defined as a stable and enduring trait and not as a moment to moment sensation that varies depending on your current mood. Read all the statements carefully and tick the answer that is closest to your gut feeling. There are no right or wrong answers or trick questions, so don’t spend too much time with one question. If you are not sure of your answer, give the answer that is true for you in general or most of the time.
Below are 29 statements about happiness. Indicate how much you agree or disagree with each statement by choosing a level of agreement or disagreement according to the following scale:
1. Strongly agree
2. Moderately agree
3. Slightly agree
4. Slightly disagree
5. Moderately disagree
6. Strongly disagree
After you have given all the answers, click on the “Submit” box to get the results.
